Can someone explain to me or provide a code reference that thoroughly explains the proper way to ground low voltage telecom cable tray? I'm having a hard time interpreting whether or not each section of tray whether it be a 10' or 2' section needs a split bolt connection to the ground wire. For instance, if you have a T coming off the main run of tray does the ground wire need to be ran all the way to the end of the section of tray and grounded or can it just be grounded at the T junction?

metallic cable trays are generally listed as being suitable for grounding. Generally the mechanism that connects the sections together is an adequate bond according to UL.

I don't know why you might want to do more than that, unless some contractual arrangement like a specification requires it.
