pros vs cons

Hey guys Ive got an opportunity to join the IBEW. Now I know were not allowed to discuss this on the open forum. However I would greatly appreciate if those of you who are in the union could send me some pms. Discussing the good and bad of this orginization. I have been given some info and would like to ask these qs in a pm style chat. Mr Moderators please give this some leaveweay before u lock it as I am trying to do this the correct way. THanks to all who will reply.

I think the rule is not that it cannot be discussed, but if it is discussed it has to be done so in a civil manner.

It is such a hot button issue for many people that it is sometimes hard to stay civil.

My suggestion is that you talk at length with several guys already in the local and get the good and the bad first hand. You can't get anywhere near the depth of information in a few paragraphs here.

We really don't want this topic discussed on the Forum. So I will lock the thread. However, the PM feature will still work, even if the thread is locked. So if anyone wants to accept the invitation to provide comments via PM, feel free.
