Hello all,
Lately we have been getting requests on many commercial projects to "provide provisions for future solar or photovoltaic system". Without knowing what exactly this future system might entail or even the size of the system, what would be your recommendation?
I am thinking perhaps the simplest solution would be to add a spare set of lugs on the CT connection cabinet to allow a future PV installer to connect at that point.
I know others may leave space in your service or main distribution panel to allow the future PV installer to put in a reverse fed breaker, but then how much do you oversize the main and bus?
I would like to hear your methods or approach on this type of request. Thank.
