Puck lights,Puck lights why is it always puck lights

One inspector has been a royal pain in regards to puck light transformers.These are the non plug in type stripped ends to be wirenutted.
On rough we set a 3 gang nail on in an accesible area,bring switch leg to there then jump to second j box where all the leads to ucl puck lights are mounted all in nm.Under the cabinet we drill a hole in rear stile mount a wiremold box and feed the LV from there
He has come up with transformers need to be mounted,transformers need to be vented.Last week there was a final on a home that had a bunch of puck lights.It was roughed so that there were 3 puck lights / trans.He opened one Jbox and read on it 20 amp circuit required Any thoughts or arguments would be appreciated

I would see what the manufactures suggestions are for the installation.
What are the article numbers he is using to turn you down?

There have been several instaces where he cited and showed articles but right now i couldn`t cite them.Problem being is that the NEC articles and manufacturers installation instructions sometimes contradict each other.Trans. must have ventallation but instructions dont have that in them If not mistaken JIMWALKER knows who I am talikg about

If you are installing "puck" lights, I would be careful. They are stated for use in cabinet installations. Cabinet may refer only to gun cabinets and show cabinets, not permantently installed wall cabinets. In Wisconsin, they have really pushed hard on that.
Also, if you use NM cable, the conductors cannot splice free air, and need to be in a junction box when/upon leaving the confines of the wall space.
I have avoided Low Voltage undercabinet lights now for a couple years.
I have made efforts to install 2,3,4 lamp xenon strip fixtures (ie Kichler or CSL-CounterAttack). The Kichler lights even make for nice installation at the front of the cabinet where the customers always want them.
In regards to the transformer itself, there are a lot of things to consider: manufacturer's installation instructions, UL, NEC, NFPA, IBC/UDC. The AHJ has a lot to play with.
