pull-block disconnects as transfers

We will have a panel fed by some inverters. This at 240/120 100A. I'd like a bypass switch in case they spill their magic smoke, and must be pulled. This would switch the panel input from the inverter output, to directly feeding from the upstream panel.

It would be seldom if ever used. {We hope...}

Rather than a conventional 3p-2T transfer switch; I vaguely recall once seeing a rectangular disconnect block. You yanked it out, and either turned it over or plugged it to the side; hitting other pins. This was the transfer.

It would take up less space on the wall, and hopefully cost less.

Does such actually exist; would it {still} be legal?

Thanks, but alas they are no smaller; or much cheaper, as compared to the conventional switch units.

Grumble; all my good ideas this week keep running into reality.
