Hello,
Is having a pull box next to a pad mounted control cabinet in the field a good practice? We'll have several pad mounted NEMA 4 Cabinets installed throughout an industrial site, and I was wondering if I should terminate feeder conduits directly into the enclosure or route them through an adjacent pull box. I'll have branch conduits going from the cabinet to field devices, so I think there is a benefit of having a pull box. I think another advantage of the pull box would be if the power cable and fiber are pulled in advance, I can have the cabling coiled up in the PB and then run a short conduit to the pad and erect the enclosure at a later time without having to worry about possibly damaging the cable during the installation of the cabinet.
Just thinking out loud and hoping for opinions on this one.
Thanks,
EE
