Is there a nec code reference that says i can or cannot use a pull out disconnect (normally used in hvac service) as a disconnecting means for a motor.

My application: 110v 3/4 hp blower exhaust motor - outside - using 60a rated nema4x enclosure - lock can be placed on enclosure

i have spoken with manufacturer and they say it is ok but i would like to have a nec reference

You won't have a specific Code reference to that disconnecting means.
The requirement s for motor disconnects are covered by Part IX of Art. 430 starting at 430.101.
As long as any device meets the requirements of that section it should be acceptable.
I know of no problem with what you describe ( as long as the environment is suitable)

And just what do you think is in that hvac ?

Good point. But why aren't pullouts mentioned in 430.109? I'm assuming pullouts must be UL listed as one of the items in 430.109. Maybe they are UL listed as a motor-circuit switch, or maybe a manual motor contoller?
