We had some heavy rains in Vermont last week causing some flooding. In a new installation with poorly sealed conduits, water flowed from the transformer vault in through the service conduits into the entrance pullbox and then through the conduits into the main circuit breaker. No major damage, but we are drying the equipment and properly sealing the conduits, this time. To hedge our bets in the event that the resealing of the conduits still leaks, it was discussed that we should line the inside of the bottom of the pullbox with waterproofing material and put in a drain with plastic pipe directing any water that got into the box to a nearby sump.
I do not see anything in NEC 314 that does not allow this. Has anyone ever done anything similar? Grade boxes are often times drained, so why not a pullbox?
