Pulling a service meter

One day observing the maintenance department with a pull order. Meaning at the end of the month your meter is pulled for unpaid payment. the meter is old style anolog,having no means of disconnect before meter,not shutting of the breaker before pulling meter. We are a submeter service for FPL is there a county(orange) law or nec code for pulling a service meter with out have a electrical lic.looking at this in safety area ( we are talking about maintenance personel that have no electric knowledge) KBMaint

People with no electrical knowledge should not be pulling an electrical meter, live or not. JMO.

in our area they pull the jacks if its o/h. u/g they just open the pedestal and disconnect there. oh, and i agree w/ john.

Not paying your electric bill is a bigger crime.

I'm confused.

You say that you are a subcontractor for FPL ? Have you actually contracted yourself to FPL to pull meters, but do not have qualified personnel to perform the task ? Or am I misunderstanding the post ?

There is a device designed purposely to pull meters under load and contain any possible arc blast.
