I am installing strip lighting which are connected end to end. I am pulling the wire through the fixtures from one end to the other. Someone on the job site told me you can not do this anymore. Is this trued?

You can run from one end to the other if the circuit is feeding the strip lights. There are some additional permissions granted in 410.65.

410.64 says it's permitted only if the luminaire is listed for such use.

And welcome to the fourm!

I agree with Rob,

Provided that the circuit is supplying the luminaires, the luminaire need not be listed as a raceway in accordance with 410.65.

410.64 would apply if you are running multiple circuits through the luminaires or a single circuit that does not supply the luminaire.

That only addresses specific luminaires ('designed for end-to-end connection.....'). 410.64 is more broad in it's coverage.

I would agree with you if 410.65 only contained the first sentence up to the word "or". "Luminaires connected together by recognized wiring methods" would cover the fixtures mentioned in the OP.
