Push in wire connectors

Have any of you out there had occassion to use the Ideal or Wago push in wire connectors? If so, what is your learned and carefully considered opinion of their reliability?

Re: Push in wire connectors

yes, have used the Wago type in prefabrication of outlet and switch assemblies in office environments, this is with #12 Awg. stranded and there can be problems with the stranding folding away from the "tension grip" mechanism and not having all the conductor strands engaged. Solid does not pose this problem. Of course they are U.L. listed but time will tell as to their durability.

Re: Push in wire connectors

miles,

I have used the Ideal push-ins. They seem to hold well and are easy to use and verify that the connection is inserted all the way. I have not had any problems. The newer Ideals are rated for both stranded and solid.
These are only for one time use. Wago has a new style that has a cam-like lever to allow the clamping or unclamping of wires.
