Im back after a long "break" (or broken computer for that matter)

I have a 200 amp single phase service, SE runs from the (pushmatic special) panel to the meter, ground runs next to it. I want to put a main breaker panel in-between the old panel and meter, and run the old panel off a 150amp breaker.
Any ideas for meeting the seperate ground for the subpanel requirement without replacing that SE?, or i could probably use feed through lugs, and make them both main panels, and just use the 6handthrowsrule to justify it?

Are you feeding the old panel with a 150a breaker in the new panel?

If so, is a 150a branch/feeder breaker even available for the new panel?

James, good to see you back.

I don't know anyway you can avoid changing to SER.

I really am not following your feed through suggestion.

any 240 circuits? If not turn the old panel into a 120 volt panel re identify one of the hots and use it as the grounded conductor.

I don't think you will find a buss bar rated for a 150 amp breaker. I don't think you can even find a 150 amp plug in breaker anymore.

I wanted to put bottom lugs on the new panel, so i can use it as a feed through, and can leave the current panel alone. So they are both main panels.

Kind of like the safe alternative to double lugging the meter.

Its a common thing to do in modulars around here. Just install a feed through panel in between the meter and original panel, use all SE, and have bare #2 going from the ground rods to both panels

The problem I see with doing it the way you suggest is that the disconnects to the building are not grouped anymore.

Oh Crap..... What about a 200amp fused disco, that feeds my new panel, that feeds through to the old panel. both panels fed with SE, and then bare #2 to each panel from ground.

I hate this dumb single phase retrofit cheap crap.......
