PUTTING AL & CU IN SAME EMT

If Al could not be used for wire sizes smaller than #4 and you had a run that had 4 #4's and 1 #8 what would you do? Could you use AL for the #4's and CU for the #8 in th same conduit or would they all have to be CU? Actually trying to interpret 310.4 now. THanks.

If this is not a parallel run- 310.4 - is for parallel runs- then there is no issue doing what you say. Copper & Alum. will work. Actually you could use alum. & copper even with parallel runs as long as the conductor you are paralleling has the same characteristics and is 1/0 or larger, of course
