I'm installing an older hot tub and the Balboa controller schematic is referring to ground and bonding. The main 6/3 wires from the 50 amp breaker is pretty straight forward, the confusing part is the bonding! Maybe I'm making it more complicated!

When the tub was moved, it have the 6/3 attached to the controller board. that bundle came in from the bottom left side.

On the right side of the controller there are ground and bonding lugs. The pump motor was attached to the top lug (Balboa Controller) by a bare copper wire that was attached to the motor's casing.

Also there was a 6 gauge red and black wire that was attached to the 2 bottom lugs on the right side of the controller board as well.

I have been reading that adding another grounding pole by the GFCI could cause issues and not necessary! The bonding part is confusing! The tub has a pump and a heater that is connected to the controller board.

I'm looking for suggestions about the best way to proceed.
