I'm installing a PV system on a parking structure. Customer would like to install wires in the Parking structure made of HSS steel tubes as much as possible. Is there any NEC or recommended handhole openings required for pulling the wire? The only section I know of is 410.30(B) for luminaires.

We will be routing #10 AWG USE-2 wire...i'm not sure what type of method would be used.

According to 690.31(B) USE-2 cables are permitted in exposed outdoor locations.

IMHO that means that you could not conceal the USE-2 cables inside of a steel tube.

so once you enter the structural member, it is considered interior wiring? the structural members aren't water tight and the wires runing inside the structural members will be exposed to the weather in certain areas of the parking structure. what type of cable is typically used for this situation?

Once the conductors enter a steel tube they are not interior wiring necessarily but they are no longer exposed.

Just because they are permitted in exposed areas doesn't mean they are prohibited in concealed areas.
