Just ordered a new greenlee 855 with PVC coated shoe package, does anybody use this bender , and are you satisfied with it? Also have a job to do some PVC coated rigid runs, I am going to have some dies reamed out at a machine shop, does anyone know what diameter needs to be taken off dies for the coating? Thanks.

measure the outer diameter of the pipe. Just a suggestion to clearly and permanently mark the machined out dies because in my experience some moron will send the set of dies out to a regular rigid job and it will be too loose to square up to normal pipe and countless manhours will be lost to broken dies and confusion as to why these dies dont work.

Most PVC coated rigid is 40 mil (.040") There is thinner stuff, but most is 40 mil. I am not aware of any that is thicker, so if you have your dies bored out .040", you'll be good for the thinner stuff too.

I spray painted mine light blue to avoid this problem. No special reason for the light blue. It was just a color that I had handy.

Yes, I am also going to paint them a different color, and keep them separate from other dies. Mark now that you mention it 40mil would be common sense.
Thanks.
