I have multiple schd. 40 PVC conduits stubbed up through concrete under MCC sections and open bottom dist. panels. The wire is pulled and the facility is on line. There are no fittings or adpt. on the stubs. The inspector is requiring us to meet NEC. Does anyone know of a bushing that is split and can be installed after the wire is pulled? It would violate the UL listing to split a listed bushing.

352.46- Bushings- pvc conduit is required to have a bushing or adaptor when it enters a box-fitting or enclosure.

Now see 300.4 (F)- Does anyone have experience with or used this method of securely fastening an insulating material in the conduit?

Re: pvc conduit bushings

Yes, several manufacturers make insulated split bushings. You may also be able to use a product called "fish paper". Fish paper is a moldable, rubbery type substance that can be used for electrical insulation.

reply; the only bushings I can find are not split or they are not rated for scdl. 40 pvc.
