PVC conduit is 1.2" ok for #2 wire. where is it in the PVC code I would find this for new york

PVC conduit is 1.2" ok for #2 wire. where is it in the PVC code I would find this for new york. I got two 1.2" for either in ground or out. And want to use them on an old serie being updated. It will be painted to preent sunlight damage.
