On an earlier post we talked about using a pvc nipple instead of a rigid nipple between the meter and the service disconnect to prevent parallel return paths. Is there a factory made pvc or insulated nipple or offset nipple? or are you all using (2) ta's and a short piece of pvc?I've never seen a pvc offset nipple.

Re: Pvc nipple

Carlon makes what they call a meter offset available in 1? and 2" size. I have never used one. Maybe someone else can comment. Go Here and look.

Re: Pvc nipple

We use a 7 1/2 in piece of 2 in pvc 2 2 in MA`s lock nuts and plastic bushings on 8 in block walls.Allot less cost and easier to install.Split services get a 4 in piece of pvc and ma`s l/n ,bushings. No MIG bushings quick and easy.

Re: Pvc nipple

We use the pvc offsets around here all the time. Makes it easier to line up the ko's in the panel and the meter base. They are threaded on one end and have a bell on the other that we just glue a box adapter in to. Makes the job neat, easy and does not require bonding bushings.
