Hello all.
I am in need of some guidance I have never hooked up a shunt trip breaker and do not understand the two wires coming out of it they are both black but when breaker is on they have no power when not connected to anything.
Basically I need to wire from the Pyrochem micro switch to go to the shunt trip breaker THQL1130ST1 General Electric so that the exhaust fan comes ON when the breaker is turned off. Two wires coming off the micro switch NO / NC and a "c" common which I am guessing is always hot the common is defaulted to NC so NC is always going to be hot is my guess
"C" is going to have 120v connected to it always constant I am guessing
Where does the NC coming off the breaker go to?
so when the switch trips it goes to NO and NO becomes the hot wire
Where does the NO wire coming off the switch go?
the way I have the exhaust fan connected is through a speed control switch so breaker goes to one end of the switch and the fan to the other so that when I turn the switch the fan comes on when the breaker is turned on.
Now I need the fan to turn on when the breaker is off when that Pyrochem micro switch trips. I was told I needed a "Shunt Trip" breaker in order for this to happen but I am confused what wires go to the wires on the breaker from the micro switch
I know electric I just never handled a micro switch and a shunt trip breaker before
A lil help please and thank you
