I did a panel upgrade to accommodate new circuits needed for a remodel.
In the existing panel there is a 20A circuit for a pump for the the sewer leech field. Does this need to have gfci breaker? The pump is hard wired.

There is also an existing boat house circuit that runs outside and hits a GFCI at the boat house so I assume this one is fine since everything is protected after the gfci outlet.

Somewhere I thought I learned or read that certain circuits like these require the feeders to be gfci protected that run outside underground.

Sorry for the lack of experience and stupid question.

The simple answer is that the existing is outside the scope of your work.

I don't know about the leaching field, but it probably depends on whether there is a receptacle.

The underground run normally only needs GFCI protection if it's less than 18" deep.
