Do you stock an assortment of the non-proprietary 1" plug-in breakers in your inventory (Cutler Hammer, GE, Murray, Siemens, etc) or do you stock Classified breakers?

What types of proprietary breakers do you stock? QO? HOM? CH?

I have never been a fan of classified breakers. Back when I was a contractor, I use to stock a bunch of everything. Even some old FPE stablocks to get the HO out of a jam...

Cutler Hammer, Siemens, Sq D

Only problem I see with the one fits all is, some of the loadcenter manufactures do not list them as a replacement, but if they do,then we think they are a great replacement.

I used to carry an assortment of common breakers on my service van. I would have a bin for Square D, Cutler Hammer and GE. I didn't carry any stab-lock, zinsco or push-a-matic breakers. If I needed one of thoughs I would go back to the shop where we had a large assortment of odd breakers.

When I wear my EC hat I keep a variety of OEM parts and breakers on hand that are typical for my area:

HOM, QO, CH, BR, Siemens, GE

Just not 3 phase stuff because it is rare for my anymore.

I probably have 300 breakers on my truck mostly resi .
I have way more than I will ever need all brands all sizes I always think just in case. I still find myself buying 15a and 20a murrays even though I probably have 20 of each on my truck.
There is limited space on my truck and I have been recently thinking of stocking much less and use the space for an organized drill bit section as I am forever searching for drill bits and I know I have hundreds of them.
Every size every type made but I need to organize them better in my truck.
Put all duplicates in storage and have a standard bit selection to make me more efficient. Maybe tomorrow........ yeah right football season sorting drill bits in the living room.

So far, it appears that most of you keep an assortment rather than a few CL's to cover everything. Interesting. I would have figured otherwise.

I keep all QO's, all CH-CH's, the popular BR's, popular FPE's, popular HOM's, and popular Siemens (which I unapologetically use in Murray) and a few classified replacements of the popular sizes. I guess I keep this compliment because I mostly run into QO and CH-CH. I think my truck stock list in on here someplace.

Doesn't that get the cow rather tired?

I stock mostly Sq D. Both QO and Homeline. Some GE. Other than that, I make a trip. Unless you drive a semi-trailer rig, there's no way to even try to carry every breaker for every situation all the time. All the oddballs (FPE, Zinscrap, C-H, etc) are on the shelf.

Natural selection.

Natural selection.

I keep about the same as everyone else. QO, GE, Seimans, a few zinsco, a few xo, a few CH a few FPE. I have odds and ends left over from doing service breaker changeouts. Its a natural selection collection of what I would have when needed. I have been changing out to the AFCI on 15 and 20 1 pole circuits breakers. I also had a return call on blinking lights on a brand new QO120AFCI. NO TRIP just circuit went out. Bad quickwired receptacle. BUT THE BREAKER DIDNT TRIP. Im rethinking the AFCI collection (hom and QO). Would save having to stock a couple of hundred dollars worth of breakers.
