Quad Dyke URD Cable

I saw this cable at HD. What is it used for? I thought this cable was not allowed by NEC?

For us it would be used at 3 phase locations, typically outside, grain bins, etc.

Here is what it states on the page you linked to..

• For secondary distribution & underground service at 600-V or less
• For direct burial or in ducts
• Designed for difficult installations due to adjacent utility work

IMO, if it is just URD and doesn't have any other insulation lettering then it would not be compliant. I suspect it has some other insulation letters such as USE-2 xhhw...

Found this cable and it's sisters (different sizes) at big box stores before.
On their website it states "HI-SCORE quadruplex 600 volt secondary UD cable insulation meets or exceeds all grade and type requirements of ICEA S-81-570 and UL Standard 854 for Type USE-2." but the cable I have seen is not marked USE-2 and even if it were it would have limitations in its application (no interior use).
Apparently someone in purchasing is looking at price and not application
