Question about generator serving two buildings

Hello all. I have been a member of the forum for a while now, and this is my first question.....so be nice.....

I am putting together a bid for a generator serving two buildings that each have a 400A 3phase 4-wire service. Meters for each service are on the buildings. Both services come up on seperate poles in the same area. The plan is to put the generator in an existing empty area that is adjacent to both poles, and build new pedestals w/ new meters, main disco switches, and ATS's. This is a full time business on these two sites, so the idea was to have the power to both buildings down for as short a time as possible. I am planning to have power cut, relocate existing service conduits (4" PVC) from pole to ATS, and have new services powered up when done.

Long story long, I am wondering what I need to do for a EGC on the new service? The existing services are grounded in the buildings (not sure where I haven't dug into that yet). I can drive ground rods at the new service location, for the grounding of the equipment, but shouldn't there be a EGC run w/ the existing service conductors through the existing conduits?

If I install service-entrance-rated transfer switches at these pedestals (w/ only a disconnect switch (non-fused) after the meter, would that eliminate the need for a EGC run in the existing conduits (as it is a service, and not a feeder)?

I hope this isn't too confusing for a first post. I have enjoyed (and appreciated) this site for years. Thanks for your time.

It would seem to me that if you are installing a service rated transfer switch after the meter then what leaves the transfer switch is a feeder and no longer a service. Therefore a EGC would be required form the new transfer switch to the now newly created sub panel.

I would also think that the original bonding of the neutral in the original service panel (s) should be removed.
