I am installing an explosion proof emergency stop pushbutton box inside of a spray paint booth. The pushbutton box is located on the inside wall of the booth. There will be two 90 degree xp fittings leaving the bottom of the xp box with a conduit seal on the second 90 degree fitting going up the outside wall of the booth with 1/2" RMC. The sealing fitting is required in 501.15(a)(1). According to 501.15(a)(4), a sealing fitting is required as the conduit leaves ' the C1D1 boundary, and must be located within 10' of the boundary, on either side of the boundary. The first sealing fitting is located within 6' of the C1D1 boundary, with 6' being within the 10' requirement. Will this first sealing fitting suffice, or do I have to install a second sealing fitting at the C1D1 boundary ? Thank You, Steve Wiese.

At the end of the C1D1 boundary, which is the exit hole for the conduit connecting to the xp pushbutton box, I plan on running the RMC up past the roof edge so that the end of the conduit is the required minimum distance of 3' from any openings in the paint booth. There happens to be a conveyor window above the conduit exit hole so I have to run the conduit minimum 3' past the conveyor opening. I will run the pipe in one piece so that there are no fittings within the 3' boundary. One thing that concerns me about the conduit exit hole is the fact that I had to use a 3/4' knock out cutter to get the cast C1D1 90 degree fittings to fit through the exit hole. I have gotten several opinions as to what to seal the exit hole with, such as fire rated silicone, etc. Any input on the hole sealing would be helpful. Thank You, Steve Wiese.
