I have outpatient clinic in which rooms have hemodialysis. Letter by regional director of facility says rooms have basic care level of patient care. However according to NEC 2017 section 517.34(A)(8)(e) says hemodialysis room must be on critical branch and NEC 2017 section 517.29(A) says 517.29 thru 517.30 shall apply only to critical care space.
However would not the use of hemodialysis itself put the rooms on critical branch per 517.34(A)(8)(e) or it can be considered basic care and no critical branch be provided?
