I have a question about article 408. I have noticed in the Square D feed through panel set ups, that most of the time they have a neutral (grounded conductor lug) that is rated for 2 wires. It is the intent of the manufacturer for the installer to put both the line in and the neutral which feeds back out, such as to a second section under the same lug. I am a little confused at this due to 408.41 which says "Each grounded conductor shall terminate within the panelboard in an individual terminal that is not also used for another conductor." I have noticed this for a while and am just know finally getting around to trying to find out the code logic. I believe this article was just added in the 2002 code addition.
