I'm looking for a carbon monoxide detector that can achieve the following:

In a small storage room with pool equipment, my client wants to put in a carbon monoxide detector that, when activated, can then in turn activate an exhaust fan to clear out the air in the room for a given period of time. Can I get some input on what might be available out there that can be set up to achieve this? Thanks!

At the risk of voiding the warranty, measure the voltage across the alarm device when it sounds, find a low-current relay of similar voltage, and use it to control a contactor large enough for your load.

I think you have it backwards, you should be looking for an exhaust fan that activates upon carbon monoxide detection.

I understood him to say he was looking for a carbon monoxide detector to active a exhaust fan. I said he should be looking for an exhaust fan that is equipped with a detector.

The interconnect wire is usually 9-12 volts. It's pretty common for us to addd relays inside the boxes of smokes to integrate into the secutity system
