You want an electrical license but don't know what the NEC is or what edition to use?

Isn't some kind of experience/training required just to be able to sit for the exam? I don't know of any jurisdiction where someone can just take an electrical licensing exam without first qualifiying for it.

Actually California's requirements are a mess right now.

You can work unlicensed as there is no licensing enforcement.

I was just referring to the official requirements. Whether they actually enforce the rules is a separate matter.

Particularly interesting is the California rule that if labor and materials is less than $500, then no license is required. Does this mean Handyman Stan can advertise $499 service upgrades?
