Hi all,

I'm a home owner in the process of changing a circuit in my garage from a 240v to 120v. The wire is a 10/3 plus ground, so I'll cap and tape the red wire in the load center and box and install a single pole breaker using black wire. Two questions:

1. Any issues with the above plan?
2. My load center is a TL812SL and it says I can use "type THQP, TQP, TQL-AC, TQAL-AC, THQL-AC, THQAL-AC or TXQL" breakers. I've located a GE THQP120 breaker that will fit, but I've read there are issues with these starting fires when when used with aluminum bus bars, which my load center appears to have. I also have a GE THQL1120 breaker that appears to fit, but isn't listed on the load center. Is this THQL breaker ok to use?

Thanks in advance!
