Question on load shedding breakers???

When it comes to load shedding and using load shedding breakers, is it just a matter of changing out existing standard circuit breakers and replacing them with load shedding breakers? Or is it a completely different system? Any insight on this and/or direction would be greatly appreciated.

There is no single method. It can be as simple as using a sub-panel and only switching those loads automatically, or as complicated as adding LV-control-voltage interruption to HVAC equipment.

What type of load shedding breaker are you asking about?

A simple shunt trip breaker that once tripped need manual resetting or a controlled breaker like a Square D Power link that can be remotely turned on or off as needed?

Sounds to me that Iwire explained it. What other options are you curious about besides that one needs action AFTER the load shedding needs are over and the other is fully automatic?
