I'm installing a service on the outside wall of a Garage and just have a couple of questions. The panel will be directly back-to-back of the meter. The meter is going to be installed between the corner of the house and a window.

1) Is there a certain clearance from the corner of the house to the meter?

2) Is there a cetain clearance from the window to the meter? I'm aware of the 3ft rule to open conductors.

Secondly, On the other side where the panel is to be located, I'm a little confused how much clearance you needed around the panel.

1) How much clearance is necessary to the right and left of the panel?

2) Is it measured from center of the panel or the edge?

1) and 2) The serving electric utility may have some clearance rules, you need to check with them.

Second group:
1) and 2) See Section 110.26 for working clearance requirements.

If you don't have a code book, I suggest you purchase a current NEC Handbook. The handbook has lots of illustrations and explanations but it is not an instructional manual. :)
