Question on residential sub panel codes???

I've just been doing some research here on the forum on the topic of residential sub panels. Am I understanding correctly that I can have a sub panel feed a sub panel, and then feed another sub panel, etc., as long as there is proper working clearances for each as well as the proper over current protection for each?

One more question: For example, can a 200 rated amp sub panel that may or may not be filled be fed at 125 amps from another 200 amp rated sub panel? Basically we just need the additional breaker space for computers, etc. My only concern with the inspector, is if he says something like, "How do you know they're not going to fill the new panel with A/C circuits or other substantial loads that may exceed the 125A protection???"

Any feedback on this would be appreciated.

As long as the wire and equipment are protected at or below their ratings, you can do as you want.
There is no code requirement that makes you predict what will be installed later.

You am, as long as you allso maintain separation between the neutral and grounding, alllllll the way back to the main disconnect enclosure.

It can, as long as the feeder itself is properly protected at its source end.

Because the same could be asked about every installation, and be answered "Because it's up to that electrician to do a proper load calculation", which you should be doing here.
