I'm running a subpanel to a barn from a detached garage. I believe I need to keep the ground and neutral wires separated in the garage subpanel and barn subpanel. Is that correct? The garage wiring comes from the main panel on the house. Also I need to install ground rods at both buildings don't I?

Thanks in advance.

Re: Question on subpanel grounding

YOu have two options. See section 250.32(B) (1) and (2) of the NEC. And yes, both structures will require a grounding electrode system.

Sorry, but I am closing this thread. This forum is for electrical professionals only. This appears to be a DIY question. Please consult an electrical contractor. Thanks.
