I'm hooking up a perm. fountain that falls under part I and IV of article 680 and just wanted to clear a couple questions up. I put a switch within sight from the fountain. From there it's u/g uf to a J-box at the fountain. It's gfci protected off of a garage recept. According to 680.10 I need to have that J-box at least 5 feet away, or can I have it closer since the wiring is necessary to supply pool equipment permitted by article 680? Do I have to use 680.24(A)(2)(a) and (b) for space requirements? And from what I can tell I have to hard wire the submersible according to 680.56(D) correct? I haven't done a fountain before and 680 kinda has me going in circles so all help is greatly appreciated.
