Hi guys,
I'm trying to get another opinion on section 501.105(B)(6) that discusses the connections rules that apply to process control instruments that are installed in a Class 1, Div 2 area. The device in question is an Axiom AMI33******* valve control head with a mini-type quick disconnect. It is a non-incendive apparatus per the FM and cFM certificate and is rated for the Class 1, Div 2 environment. Reading the aforementioned code exerpt, the one condition I'm having a difficult time convincing myself of is 501.105 (B)(6)(3). The quick disconnect plug screws onto the Axiom's female Euro connector...is that considered a locking type? Thanks!
