When you guys quote from the NEC and put the actual writing in your post...two questions: where are you gettin the online code, and how are you doing it. Can you explain this. Do I need to subscribe to something to get this.

The on-line one has no "Cut and paste" options.

And expect some debate on the next point....

They are probably "Cut and Pasting" from their CD on their computer. But IMO it falls with in the "fair use" copyright exceptions. :roll:

No copying beyond that permitted by ?fair use? shall be permitted without the express written permission of the NFPA.

I believe free access to current and previous NEC editions with search, copy, and paste capabilities is available with a subscription to the NECplus service.

I use the 2008 NEC which I downloaded onto my computer from the $90 CD I purchased. The purchased version allows the content to be downloaded to two computers. It also allows you to cut/paste from the text.

I didn't end up buying the CD, since it requires Windows to run the Folioviews program, from what I've seen on the NFPA website.
