My oldest son is a Snap-On dealer and his tool truck has a 22' body. What we are looking at is installing a roof top A/C unit so he doesnt need to leave the truck running for the A/C. I have found the Genrac makes a 3400watt lp unit rated for class c motor homes. The truck all ready has a lp gas heater on it so venting the exhaust is not a problem. What I am thinking is to set a 60 amp 6 space panel, feed the A/C unit and set a separate receptacle for him to plug his batt. charger into. He has 3 batt with a isolator that supply power to a inverter that powers his lights and computer. The gen. set is only 13.5" high which would be perfect for installing under a shelf. Has any on installed such a unit before? and any thing to watch out for

I had a honda 3500 installed under the seat of my work van. Just make sure you can see which way the switch is "on" or 'off '. If you have to (I did) put new marks on it so you are sure your choke is in the right location while cranking.
Mine was up against the wall and the 'on' switch was on one side the choke on the other. It was difficult to read. Esspecially if you don't use it every day.

With the RV LP generators you have to watch out when you hook up the fuel supply line some of the LP generators draw in liquid mode while other models draw in vapour mode.

Myself I rather run in liquid mode due less sentivty of surge and load issue especally in colder weather situation.

{ most of the applaince like heater in the RV or service truck they useally draw in vapour mode so that the reason why some of the Generator manufacters spec'ed to run on liquid instead of vapour so when the generator load up it will not affect the appalinces like heater etc .,,}

Merci,Marc

If you asked my opinion, Onan is the only game in town as far as RV type generators goes. Others may make them, but Onan, particularly the Emerald series, is the one to have. Both of my bucket trucks have Onan generators.
