My question is about 2002 NEC article 314.23(f) exception #2. Does this exception pertain to the "threaded entries / hubs" part of (f) or to the "supported by two or more raceways", or both.

Are you allowed to support a regular box with a single raceway (if you meet conditions listed in a through f of the exception) or does it still need to be a box with threaded hubs?

Notice that to use exception #2 all of the conditions (a-f) must be met. (d) of exception 2 discusses the use of 1 conduit for support, while (f) states that the conduit must be threaded into the box.

I think this is an allowance for a single raceway, but a threaded box is still required.

JMO, however.

Are you using the box to support a fixture? If not try 314.23 (E) Exception this mignt help.
