Is there a code section that concerns the correct way to transition between different types of raceway?

general statement.....

most raceways or cables as far as the 2005 NEC are concerned require you to use listed fittings

Many manufactures list transition connectors and couplings etc.

As far as a code section I would say there are many that adress this topic,here are a few.
