Range cable

I just had an inspector tell me that range cable must be copper and not aluminium. Is this true and where in the code does it say this.

It doesn't. This is probably a local amendment to the NEC.

Why would you want to use alum. anyway? It is cheaper for a reason :roll:

What problems have you noted with alum. wire in these larger sizes. All most all the range and dryer feeds are alum. in this area of PA.

That being said there is one municipality in this are requires everything copper.
