Range hood depth requirements

I need to know the code depth for range hoods. I believe that it needs to cover up to the front burners. Is this correct?

This is not an electrical code issue but a building code issue. I do not know that answer.

Is this a commercial hood or residential hood?

It is a building code issue if it is a commercial kitchen hood. There are requirements that the hood cover and extend a certain distance beyond a range, cook top ect...

You are correct that a residential range, installed in a dwelling unit, is not require to have a range hood.
