I need to replace a panel, and I'm looking to confirm the correct size of a breaker for an single electric range with a nameplate rating of 9.78 kw in a single family house. Am I correct in saying that the size of the conductors and breaker can be sized off of Table 220.55? If so, am I correct that the KW would be 8000? 8000/240 = 33A If that's right then a 40 amp double pole breaker would work, right?
