Oh oh, electric ranges are not compatible with GFCIs...TIA to change adoption date of requirement, but what about all the existing?
CMP may of overreached on this one.

How is it you come up with the electric range not being compatible with GFCIs, would like know the reference before AHJ decides I've got to install one.

Gas ranges with nominally desperately derived high voltage spark igniters often cause nuisance trips on GFCI. It is less likely for them to trip AFCI because of the minimum current requirement for tripping.
Similar problems are often seen with furnace igniters.
In theory they should not cause a trip if properly designed, but I doubt the manufacturers routinely test for that.

Electric ranges can cause a GFCI trip if installed with a legacy 3 wire feed because they draw current on the neutral and there is alternate path if the range is locally grounded.

The TIA is about the heating elements that on initial use contain moisture and tripping the GFCI. This is not about the igniter system.

The igniters are supplied through an isolation transformer so the branch circuit doesn't see it as a ground fault, just a load.
