Rating of Grounding Conductors in Cable Tray

Merry Christmas

According to 392.10B(1a) single conductors used in cable tray must be labeled as CT rated. However, 392.10B(1c) states that equipment grounding conductors only need to be insulated, covered or bare and 4/0 or larger. Does this mean the CT rated wording on the ground cable is not required?

I see subsections (a) and (c) as independent. Tray grounding conductors need to be #4 or larger and since they can be bare I don't know how you would show a cable type listing and section (c) doesn't mention it.

Typically only conductors 1/0 and larger have the CT marking. Since the EGC can be smaller than 1/0, there is no requirement for it to have the CT marking.
