I am looking to purchase a rechargeable battery powered light fixture for use in a spray paint booth. According to the website, one of the uses is for a spray paint booth. It is listed as an explosion proof light, but is only classified as C1 D2. As far as I know, the paint booth is a C1 D1 environment when painting. Am I missing something , or is this light not suitable for a paint booth even though the website says that it is ? This light is made by aelight.com. Thanks,Steve Wiese.

It’s been more than a few years since I was involved with this, but our paint booths always had the lights mounted on the outside of the booth with glass windows that allowed the light into the booth. Outside area was D2. Inside was definitely classified D1.

The interior is a Class I, Division 1 location, and equipment marked for Class I, Division 2 is not suitable.
