We are to install a 112 kva transformer on a mezzanine with the disconnects for the primary (no-fuse) and secondary (fusible) adjacent to the transformer. The mezzanine does not have a permament ladder. Does it require one to be considered Readily Accessable statement?

Re: Readily accessable

Readily Accessible. Capable of being reached quickly for operation, renewal, or inspections without requiring those to whom ready access is requisite to climb over or remove obstacles or TO RESORT TO PORTABLE LADDERS, and so forth. Article 100 Definitions, 2002 NEC. :)

Re: Readily accessable

Frank,
The OCPD in question is not a "supplementry" device and is not located next to the "utilization equipment". While 404.8(A) EX. 2 would apply to the disconenct, it does not apply to the OCPD on the secondary side of the transformer.

PS: Use of all caps is considered shouting and is difficult to read.
