Hello all, new member here. Looks like a great site.

Like to tap the knowledgebase here and get some opinioins/thoughs on placement of rear access individually mounted switchboards or switchgear indoors. Is it acceptable to place this gear up against a wall and install a garage door. The garage would be for the sole purpose of pulling/terminating feeders and servicing of the gear but would be closed under normal operations. All 110 requirements would be maintained when the door is open. Thoughts?

I don't see it as an issue as long as the working space requirements are met with the door open. Might have to be a tall door.

If the room is such that egress requirements come into play, a rolling or one piece garage door may not meet those requirements.
You may need a conventional door with hinges.

The way the OP was worded suggested to me that the garage door would be behind the equipment.

Would it be the only way to get behind the equipment at all or would it just be there to provide working clearance?
Would anyone ever be behind the equipment with the door closed?

Thanks for the responses guys. 3000A+ LV gear with two seperate means of egress at opposite sides of the equipment in the room. Yes the garage door would be behind the equipment. It is not meant to be a means of egress and wouldnt be possible to egress throught it as it will be only the width and height of the equipment plus some slack (equipment >6.5'H and >30"W). It would be the only way to access the rear of the equipment and would serve the sole purpose of equipment feeders install and maintenance. Garage door would be on a building exterior wall and if someone were to walk around the building on the outside, then yes someone could possibly be behind the equipment with the door closed.

When I said behind it with the door closed I was really asking whether there would be room to go in then close the door behind yourself, not that anyone would be likely to.
I don't see any code problem with what you propose.
