I agree. At first I liked the concept, one product to serve two functions, but as time passed it became clear to me that it is definitely a flop.
 
Another example of a company remotely shutting down equipment owned by a customer. This kind of remote control baked into a PV system really bothers me. Inform customers and recommend they shut down their system, but if they want to risk it let them keep it running.

I always wondered if the tiles would have a service life at least as long as a standard roof. It isn't clear to me that the 20-25 year warranty you may get on a standard solar module can be grafted onto a product with less than a 10-year-old installed base.

I have seen this many times; a product comes out that is meant to combine the capabilities of two other products but ends up doing neither very well.
