Today I took a test for another state (my job includes licensure for several states). The actual state is immaterial and i'd rather not mention which state it was as you're not supposed to reveal specific questions about specific states.

There was a question I did not have at my finger tips. I was given 3.6H, 480 Volts and 60 Hz and asked to calculate the amp draw of the inductor.

I do not know if i got it right or wrong of course, but would very much like to know the calculation.

given 3.6H, 480 Volts and 60 Hz

3.6H is coil inductance in henries. Usually you deal with micro-henries. 3.6 H is going to be one big role of wire.

The impedance = 2xPIxFxL = 2 x 3.14 x60cpsx3.6 = 1356 ohms
Amps = 480 v/1356 = 0.35 amps
How did you calculate it?
